Gareth Southgate: England must cut out individual mistakes after ‘bizarre’ Kosovo encounter

Gareth Southgate has cautioned his England players they need to eliminate the individual mistakes after their”eccentric” experience with Kosovo.
A revealing from Southgate’s guys was enough to repel a Kosovo 5-3 at St Mary’s in a pulsating European Qualifier.
England responded , scoring five goals in the opening 45 minutes, but two defensive lapses let their competitions a way back in the match after dropping behind to Valon Berisha.
The England manager commended his young team’s ability but surrendered they need to eliminate the mistakes .
“It was weird,” he explained.
“The outstanding aspects and the poor features are evident to everybody. We left a bad start and poor mistakes but showed composure to recuperate from those mistakes. Our usage of this chunk in the first half has been superb.”
He added on Sky Sports News:”The match should truly be finished at half-time, obviously, but when teams begin to lose leads then there is another feel about the stadium and the opposition have nothing to lose so could opt for this, and we just have ourselves to blame because of this. They have been bad mistakes, not issues for us but individual errors and conclusions.
“It set Kosovo back in the match and at 5-3 we had a protracted possession and really calmed down the game. There has been a long passing move that led to the punishment, which was our chance to set the game. Regrettably, we did not take that this moment, but we managed to observe the game out reasonably well from that point.”
It was a functionality from Southgate’s men who had been at times scintillating going forward in the period before the break after havoc was induced by Jadon and Sterling Sancho .
Kosovo trainer Bernard Challandes hailed Sterling as”among the best on earth” after his operation while Sancho took his opportunity with open arms, netting his first international targets.
Southgate had high praise for those .
He said:”The forwards play was exceptional occasionally…Sterling’s performances have been of the maximum level. He had been practically unstoppable. His comprehension of where defenders have been along with his capacity to ride his vision, challenges and desire to get in on target. I could not talk highly enough of them.
Southgate added on Sancho:”We know we have got such great attacking gift. We’re really pleased with Marcus [Rashford] in the weekend. Jadon is a different kind of player. He showed his balance and he demonstrated his ability to conquer on folks from a standing start. He works really hard for the team without the ball, which is valuable to how we play, and that he has been rewarded with his first goals for England which is a particular moment for him.”
